What comes across the bench

Mostly acoustic and electric guitars, with mandolins and violins mixed in. If you're not sure whether something is worth fixing, send us a photo — we'll tell you honestly.

Standard setup

Truss rod, action at the nut and saddle, intonation set, hardware checked, and a fresh set of strings. Booked in and back to you same week where we can.

from $75

Fret level & crown

For buzzing and dead spots where the frets have worn unevenly but still have life left in them. Includes a setup afterward.

from $150

Refret

New fret wire when the old ones are past leveling. Your choice of wire, board cleaned and re-oiled, nut re-cut to suit.

from $325

Nut & saddle work

New bone nut or saddle cut to your instrument and your hands. Fixes buzzing at the first fret and tuning that never quite settles.

from $90

Crack & structural repair

Top and back cracks, loose braces, and cleating done from the inside. The aim is a repair that holds and stays out of sight.

Neck reset

When the action is high and nothing else will bring it down. The neck comes off, the angle is reset, and the instrument plays like new without losing its voice.

Electronics

Pickup swaps, wiring, jacks, pots, and pickup-system installs. Clean solder joints and no hum.

from $60

Restoration

Older and inherited instruments brought back to playable, keeping as much of the original wood, finish, and wear as I possibly can.

Prices are a starting point, not a quote. Every job gets looked at and priced before we begin, so you always know the number before any work starts.

That's the normal way to arrive

Most people don't know if they need a setup, a fret level, or something bigger — they just know it isn't playing right. That's fine. Tell us what's bothering you and we'll figure out the rest.
